The unusual portraits of cats in a standing position by photographer Alexis Reynaud.
|With their adorable squishyness and their petty charms, cats know how to coax us. The Swiss photographer Alexis Reynaud then wanted to honor them in an original artistic series where the felines strike a pose, standing.
If the creative is known in particular for his photographs of wood or nudes, he let himself be tempted by an unexpected project in 2018. Indeed, observing his cat’s movements gave him the impression of seeing the puss in boots from Charles Perrault’s stories.
It was enough for the artist, originally from Geneva, Switzerland, to develop an offbeat photo shoot where around fifty cats served as his muses. Whether they are long-haired, short-haired, purebred, alley, young, or old, his project entitled “Standing Cats” illustrates cats in a standing position, which has not been an easy task.
